Yabutz.com Develops First Ever Text Promo for NASCAR Sprint Cup Event

National Speed Sport News Offers Promotion at Pocono Raceway

Boston, Ma. (June 5, 2009) - National Speed Sport News (NSSN) will utilize the latest in text-messaging for a subscription promotion celebrating its 75th anniversary at Pocono Raceway for the June 7th NASCAR Sprint Cup event. The promotion centers on track signage, ad placement in the official program and PA announcements that direct fans at the track to text NSSN to 74700 to receive a special offer.

"In this challenging economic period, we're trying new ways to attract readers. This seems like a winning method, especially for those fans that are technically savvy and enjoy promotions like this," said NSSN Publisher Corinne Economaki.

The text-messaging concept, with supporting at-track marketing collateral was developed by Suite 104 Media. The company, in addition to operating the largest search engine for the racing motorsports industry, Yabutz.com, also produces live, sponsor-supported events – one in particular is an upcoming Bluegrass concert at Pocono Raceway for the August 2nd NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

The text-promotion for the June 7th NASCAR race supports National Speed Sport News Editor and Publisher Emeritus, Chris Economaki, who was named the 2009 recipient of Pocono Raceway’s Bill France Award of Excellence, and will be honored at the event.

According to Andrew Kaplan, Yabutz.com outside marketing advisor, "Yabutz' parent is a technology company, the text-messaging promotion is an example of how technology can be utilized to create innovative and effective solutions for reaching fans of motorsports." Kaplan continued, "The text promo connects fans to an NSSN website designed specifically for the promotion. We're applying advanced technology to reach fans while they're engaged in their sport, 'visceral marketing' you might say."

Mobile marketing over the past few years has developed into a viable platform to reach customers. With respect to NASCAR race fans, 81% have cell-phones, and nearly 70% text routinely, it was a logical step to reach out to race fans, at the track, with promotions of interest, on their schedule at their convenience.
